Growing up in the Barossa valley on my parent’s vineyard property and helping work the land, instilled in me a love and appreciation of this beautiful wine region. From a young age I was involved in making our own olive oil, olives, chutneys and tomatoes relish this had a real effect on shaping who I am today and this is a tradition my wife and I continue with our young children.

At the age of 13 I got my first job in a kitchen at the lanzerac estate as a dishwasher under the very talented Wyndhmam House. When I think of my very first night of work the first thing I remember was this wonderful warm and inviting smell of a blue swimmer crab bisque which was cooking and I was instantly hooked to the lifestyle of working in a kitchen.

At the age of 16 I began my apprenticeship, through this time I won the top hat cooking competition - apprentice of the year. At the age of 20 I finished my apprenticeship and became a fully qualified chef. The time had come for me to branch out.

I joined the team at the universal wine bar in Adelaide – Rundle Street, which was an amazing experience. However I started to miss working in the Barossa and realised how attracted I was to the incredible produce we have to offer along with the food culture which exists.

So at the age of 21 I came home and started a little rustic restaurant called Cafe Harvesters. In the early beginnings I met my wife Rebecca, our cafe was extremely busy but only seated 40 guest and we were constantly getting asked to do large events at private locations and wineries. In this time we became so busy that our focus, time and passion turned our business towards becoming the catering company it is today, which over the years has seen us do some amazing events.
